Former MotoGP rider, Toni Elias calls Valentino Rossi as the toughest opponent ever faced by him.
Elias who took part in MotoGP in the decade of the 2000s recognizes the dominance of Valentino Rossi in that era. Elias calls Rossi the most difficult opponent of his career.
"There are a lot of great rivals, but I will mention two of them: Firstly, Manuel Poggiali is very strong and successfully won the world title of 125cc and 250cc.He showed his talent and then chose to retire." "But among them, the best is still Rossi, who I managed to beat at the GP Portugal in 2006 with Honda," Elias said as quoted by GPOne. The only Elias victory in the MotoGP arena is in Portugal 2006. Therefore he was very satisfied never beat Rossi who called him the best rider of all time in the race.
"I think Rossi is the greatest racer of all time, he's even better than Giacomo Agostini and Angel Nieto."
"He has a high determination and very brave," said this Spanish man.
Elias then describes the power of Rossi on the track.
"Valentino Rossi knows the moves that will be done by the opponent, especially on the last lap."
"To be able to beat Rossi, a rider must continue to attack him from the beginning until the finish, without giving him a chance to think.I managed to do that in Portugal but I need a very hard work to make it happen," said Elias.
